Who we are

This policy covers the websites operated by RE/MAX Hinterland (32 Maple Street, Maleny QLD 4552) on remaxhinterland.com.au and its subdomains, including our coming-soon, off-market, property-match, appraisal and individual agent sites. We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We collect personal information you provide directly through forms on our sites, including:

• Your name, email address and phone number when you register to view a property, enquire about a listing, or contact an agent.
• Your property preferences, budget range, buying position and location requirements when you complete our property-match questionnaire.
• Your property address and details about your property when you request an appraisal or complete a pre-appraisal questionnaire.
• Records of your activity on gated listings, such as which properties you have unlocked and which property documents you have downloaded.

Why we collect it

• To respond to your enquiry and connect you with the right agent.
• To add you to our customer relationship management system (Rex CRM) so our agents can help you buy or sell property.
• To show you property details, documents and inspection times you have registered to access.
• To prepare for a property appraisal you have requested.
• To send you marketing communications about properties and market updates — only where you have expressly opted in. Marketing consent is never assumed and every marketing email includes a working unsubscribe.
• To keep a record of which property documents were provided to which buyer, supporting our obligations under the Queensland seller disclosure regime.

Cookies and sessions

When you register to view a gated listing we set a secure, HttpOnly cookie so the property stays unlocked on your device for up to 30 days. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how our sites are used. We do not sell your data or share it with advertising networks.

Who we share it with

• Our real estate CRM (Rex Software), where your contact record and enquiry history are stored.
• Our email delivery provider (Resend), used to send confirmations and the communications described above.
• Our website hosting and database providers (Vercel and Supabase), which store data on infrastructure that may be located overseas.
• Nobody else, except where required by law.

Storage and security

Personal information is stored in access-controlled systems. Property documents are delivered through our own servers rather than public links, and download access is logged. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no internet transmission is completely secure.

Access, correction and deletion

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
